The only thing bigger than the game itself on Super Bowl Sunday are the commercials that come with it. Shazam, the smartphone app, is rolling out an enhanced way to consume in-game content, Shazam enabled advertising and Madona’s half time show. Could Shazam be the future of god awful QR codes?

For the marketing folks out there it should be noted that U.S. sales have increased each year between 2006-2010. Sales of Dos Equis have increased by 22% during a time when sale of other imported beer fell 4% in the U.S. Interestingly this aspirational 72 year-old is influencing 21-35 year old beer drinkers as American beer companies focus their marketing efforts on capturing the international market. Stay thirsty my friends.
