Props to 5hr Energy for a creative pallet wrap of their product in a crowded Costco retail environment.

Not only can you see it from across the store when in inventory (up in the shelves), it also functions as a nice floor display.

Coming from Hawaii where there is no out of home advertising, with the exception of store front signage, I found it interesting to see how brands and business stood out in the crowded Japanese market. Here are a few shots that show a small variety of examples.

Some observations

Barry Schwartz: The paradox of choice

Currently the night skies of Chicago are being invaded by McDonald’s largest french fries ever. Yellow beams of light are being used to drive awareness of the “Best Fries on the Planet” and to draw those with late night munchies into Mickey D restaurants around the city. 

What would you make of this billboard if you lived in the area?
