A behing the scenes look at how advertisers make hamburgers look so much better than reality.

What a 5 year old thinks of popular logos.

It is interesting to see which logos she clearly knows and can identify with.

Currently the night skies of Chicago are being invaded by McDonald’s largest french fries ever. Yellow beams of light are being used to drive awareness of the “Best Fries on the Planet” and to draw those with late night munchies into Mickey D restaurants around the city.

What would you make of this billboard if you lived in the area?

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post so I thought I would come ease back in with a collection of minimalist ads. Together they capture the essence of Leonardo da Vinci when he said “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” and archritect Ludwig Miles van de Rohe who termed, “less is more.” In this collection the ads enlist every element and detail to serve multiple visual and functional purposes. Enjoy.

The Scale of Starbucks

While you are enjoying your Monday morning cup of joe check out a brief history and global scale of Starbucks.

McDonald’s

In Sweden, McDonald’s has launched an interactive video-game billboard called, Pick N Play, which challenges users to a game of Pong with the winners receiving free food to claim at a nearby McDonald’s restaurant. (see above video)

Nike iDNike iD

Another interactive billboard that I like was created by Nike in 2005 to support their launch of the ‘Nike iD website,’ a site that allows customers to design and create their very own Nike shoe. Passerbys used their mobile phone to interact with a 23-story billboard to customize their very own kicks. After designing a sneaker on screen the user received a text message within seconds. The message contained a mobile wallpaper of their shoe and a link to the Nike iD site where they could buy the actual shoe.
